Timeless Vitamin C Serum Review
Timeless offers an affordable vitamin C serum featuring 20% L-Ascorbic Acid alongside partners-in-crime Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid.
The Timeless Vitamin C Serum uses a tried-and-true formula of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Ferulic Acid (originally introduced by SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic). According to Amazon, the product uses 20% vitamin C but the concentrations of Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid are not specified.
Vitamin C helps improve the appearance of age spots, wrinkles and fine lines, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid enhance the overall stability and effectiveness of this formula.
This serum has a lightweight and watery texture. It’s stored in a tinted blue bottle to prevent vitamin C oxidation. However, the shelf life is pretty short – only 3 months.
Reviews of Timeless Vitamin C Serum are generally positive. Many have reported signs of brighter skin, increased firmness, and more even skin tone. As always, your mileage may vary (YMMV).
The best part of this product is the super affordable price. It makes vitamin C serums accessible to those who can’t spend a fortune on high-end brands like SkinCeuticals or Drunk Elephant.
What is Timeless Vitamin C Serum?
Timeless Vitamin C Serum is an excellent vitamin C serum that uses the same ingredients as cult favorite (and more expensive) SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic.
Vitamin C helps brighten skin complexion and correct uneven skin tone. It’s an excellent option for mild cases of age spots, wrinkles, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation.
Timeless replicates the tried-and-true formula of:
- 15% Vitamin C: using L-Ascorbic Acid (the most potent form of Vitamin C)
- 1% Vitamin E: an antioxidant that works synergistically with Vitamin C, and
- 0.5% Ferulic Acid: helps stabilize Vitamin C and E, thereby extending shelf life
Popularized by SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic, this trio of ingredients works extremely well together. It helps fade dark spots and reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
Studies show that C E Ferulic also protects our skin from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which helps prevent free radical damage and skin cancer.
Timeless Vitamin C Serum Ingredients
The key ingredients in Timeless Vitamin C Serum include:
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin E
- Ferulic Acid
You can find the full ingredient list here.
1. Vitamin C
Vitamin C is clinically proven to brighten skin complexion by inhibiting melanin synthesis. This helps reverse signs of hyperpigmentation such as melasma, age spots, and acne marks.
Melanin is an important pigment that determines our skin color. It also protect us from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
Vitamin C promotes collagen formation. It influences gene expression (i.e. DNA) and provides essential inputs for collagen production. This helps improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines as well as atrophic (pitted) acne scars.
Finally, vitamin C protects our skin from the sun’s UV rays. It has antioxidant properties that prevent UV-induced free radical damage. UV rays are known causes of sunburn, dark spots, and skin cancer.
Timeless Vitamin C Serum uses L-ascorbic acid. This pure form of vitamin C is the most potent type for skincare.
2. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects skin from pollution and environmental stressors.
It works synergistically with Vitamin C to protect the body from free radical damage and premature signs of aging.
In addition, studies show that vitamin C can “recycle” oxidized vitamin E to boost its antioxidant power. This means vitamin C and vitamin E are best used together for optimal results.
3. Ferulic Acid
Ferulic acid helps stabilize vitamin C and vitamin E. This slows down the rate of oxidation and ensures a longer shelf life.
Timeless Vitamin C Serum Reviews
“Comparable to SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic…”
“This is a such a great serum that works that much better than the rest of them. I have repeatedly purchased this product. It is comparable to the C E Ferulic, Vitamin C Serum, by SkinCeuticals. The Skinceuticals serum costs well over $100. This serum is basically the same thing for tons less money. I am skincare obsessed and have tried out many different ‘potions’ as my husband calls these serums and creams. And, I find that each one I’ve tried gives me some sort of result usually even if it’s just simply moisturizing my skin. But, if I had to pick a top 5 serums that promote the best results, this Vitamin C Plus E, Ferulic by Timeless Skincare would definitely be in there. This will help and has helped me to slough old skin cells to make brighter skin appear. It also helps to keep acne away and has lightened some of the dark spots or freckles from the sun on my face. My skin looks smoother overall. I’ve spent alot of time in the sun during my whole life, always living in the south, and now in Florida. Any younger people reading this in your teens and twenties you must take care of your skin now if you want to avoid wrinkles and sunspots as much as possible when you get older. I started using sunscreen religiously in my 30’s but because I did not before then, I’m paying the price now. But, whatever your age, if you already have signs of aging from the sun like wrinkles and sunspots, this serum and the ingredients in it are some of the best to combat those issues. Serums can only do so much but if you do nothing you will get nothing. So, this serum and sunscreen together is your best bet. Repeat buyer here, love this product!”
“Short shelf life of 3 months…”
“This review isn’t as much about the product as it is about the shelf life of the product. This serum has a short shelf life before it oxidizes. The color of the fresh serum is clear and over time it turns to a yellow orange. At this point one should discontinue use and start with a fresh bottle. The shelf life is suppose to be 3 months before the product fully oxidizes. I bought this serum from Amazon believing that I would receive a new bottle. I received the bottle on Nov. 30th and the packaging date was 9/28/18, giving me a month to use the product. It is now turning yellow and I will have to throw nearly an entire bottle in the waste bin. If Amazon cannot deliver a freshly packaged bottle, I recommend purchasing this serum directly from Timeless.”
“pH of 6! L-ascorbic acid is only effective at pH < 3.5”
“I just tested this serum with my new pH strips and found it to be 6! L-ascorbic acid is only effective at pH levels of 3.5 or less, which means this serum is completely worthless when it comes to stimulating collagen production. That’s the only reason I use vitamin C serums. I will not be purchasing this product again.”
My Verdict on Timeless Vitamin C Serum

This is a decent addition to your skincare routine that helps brighten dark spots, fade acne scars, and protect skin from UV damage. Best of all, it won’t break the bank!
