Do you need help deciding between NewGel+ and Silagen?
Both are high quality silicone gels made by the same US manufacturer (NewMedical Technology Inc).
The key difference is that Silagen is a premium silicone gel marketed towards plastic surgeons to help their patients fade post-op scars while NewGel+ is a more affordable version that’s suitable for all scars.
Both products use 100% medical grade silicone (polysiloxanes). It’s possible that Silagen uses a higher grade of silicone but from my personal experience, NewGel+ works just as well on scars.
In terms of price, Silagen is more expensive than average and difficult to buy online (it’s better to visit your local dermatologist or plastic surgeon instead).
NewGel+ is available on Amazon for about $1.80 per gram which is also above the average price.
If you want the best value for your money, you really can’t go wrong with Kelo-Cote (~$0.90 per gram).
