Dermatix Review

Are scars holding you back from your best life? Do you often get questions about your scars?

Have you ever experienced the awkward silence when someone suddenly notices them?

If so, I know exactly how you feel as I’ve lived with scars for most of my life (and still do).

Fortunately, there are a few effective treatments that can make them much less noticeable.

For most types of scars, I recommend using a high quality silicone gel like Dermatix.

That’s because silicone gels have been used for decades to improve scar appearance.

In fact, the International Advisory Panel on Scar Management recommends them for treating both hypertrophic scars and keloids. (1)

What Is Dermatix?

Dermatix Logo

Dermatix is a brand of silicone gels made in Switzerland by pharmaceutical giant Mylan.

The company uses cyclopentasiloxane (CPX) technology and vitamin C esters to create an effective scar removal product that can also brighten your dark spots.

Unlike other silicone gels, which generally use a single blend of silicone, Dermatix incorporates both cyclic and polymer siloxane chains. (2)

With regular use, Dermatix can help improve your scar appearance by softening hard & lumpy scar tissue and minimizing new scars from surgery, injury, burns, and acne.

In terms of price, Dermatix is more expensive than average at around $2.40 per gram. This compares to more affordable alternatives like Kelo-Cote at ~$0.90 per gram or Scarfade at ~$1.17 per gram.

How Does Dermatix Work?

Man Applying Scar Cream to Knee

Dermatix helps improve the appearance of your scars by downregulating collagen production.

Abnormal scarring, such as hypertrophic scars and keloids, are caused by irregular and excessive formation of collagen. This creates hard and lumpy “knots” of scar tissue.

Silicone gels like Dermatix form a protective layer that prevents trans-epidermal water loss while still permitting vital oxygen exchange. (3)

By keeping your scar hydrated, Dermatix normalizes collagen production and promotes healthy skin cell regeneration. (4)

You should use Dermatix twice a day for a minimum of 2 months for new scars and 3 months for old scars.

Dermatix Reviews

Woman Applying Scar Cream

“It really works…”

“It did help with keloid and after few weeks it was less keloid. It takes long time but it does turn the nasty scar to white line. I had c section with my first one and after applying for a year there was only light white line and no keloid. After second baby i believed it will turn white with itself so I didn’t apply anyting. Year later my scar was still red with ton of keloid. I started applying and after 2 weeks now I can see the difference already but i know it will take a long time before i have tiny white line again. But this helps trust me. Nothing works overnight.”

Anna

“Waste of money and hopes…”

“Used every day for over 6 months during the day with silicone strips at night for a 2” scar below my eye and have seen no results. Scar is still red. Don’t waste your money or hopes on this. It doesn’t work.”

Anonymous Customer

“Will be ordering again…”

“Time will tell. Started using twice daily on surgical scar. Dermatologist recommended this product ONLY. Made in USA, but distributed by company in Thailand so takes several weeks to arrive. Goes on silky smooth with NO SMELL. Dr. said expect 4-6 months for best outcome.”

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I see results from using Dermatix?

According to the updated international clinical recommendations on scar management, it’s recommended to use a silicone product for at least 60-90 days. (1)

However, it may take longer to see results depending on the size and age of your scar.

Can I apply makeup over Dermatix?

Yes, once Dermatix is dry you can apply makeup or sunscreen over the invisible silicone layer.

Does Dermatix work on old scars or bruises?

Yes, with regular and consistent use, Dermatix can soften and even flatten the appearance of old hypertrophic scars and brighten dark marks from old bruises and injuries.

My Verdict on Dermatix

I hope you enjoyed my Dermatix review.

I recommend Dermatix for most types of scars, including injury, surgery, burns, and acne.

It’s a high quality silicone gel that helps improve your scar appearance with CPX technology and brightens your dark marks with vitamin C.

But remember, it’s important to be consistent and patient with your scar care routine.

It could be months or even years before you can truly fade away your scars for good.
